Hipot testers

Combines a high‑voltage generator, a leakage‑current measurement device and an electric‑arc detector, together with a discharge system.

What is a hipot tester ?

A hipot tester is an electrical measurement device that combines a high‑voltage generator with a leakage‑current measurement system and an arc‑detection unit, together with a discharge mechanism. Also known as high‑voltage withstand tests, dielectric strength tests generally follow the 2U + 1000 or 2U + 2000 rule and/or various quality standards such as the Low Voltage Directive or international standards (IEC60335, EN62368, IEC60601, IEC61010, IEC60598, IEC60990, IEC60204). For this reason, most applications are limited to test voltages not exceeding 5 kV.
