MEGOHMMETERS
A MEGOHMMETER IS A MEASUREMENT DEVICE FOR OHMIC VALUE OF AN INSULATION.
A very stable direct voltage, set most of the time at a standardized value (i.e. 500V DC) is applied to the terminals of the sample to be tested. The measurement of the very low current flowing through the sample is made by a highly sensitive ammeter circuit (electrometer). A measurement integrator makes it possible to obtain the value R = U / I of the "insulation resistance".
