Sefelec History
For more than 60 years, we have been putting our expertise at the service of electrical safety and equipment performance.
1965
The Sefelec journey begins in 1965, when Yvonne and Robert Deudé founded a company driven by one goal: to provide manufacturers with accurate and reliable electrical test instruments. The first megohmmeters were created in a small artisanal workshop. These are essential instruments for insulation measurement and electrical network safety,

1968
In 1968, Sefelec reached a major milestone with the launch of its first dielectric test benches, already anticipating future electrical safety requirements.

1972
The company moved to larger premises in Champigny‑sur‑Marne to support its growth.

1975
Launch of the SAPHIR range, marking Sefelec’s entry into automated cable testing for critical industries such as aerospace and rail.
1981
Development of the SIM 1000 series integrating the first microprocessors, improving speed and accuracy. This innovation laid the foundations of modern automated electrical testing.

1986
Sefelec moved to Lognes, a site combining production, R&D, and engineering. All electrical test equipment, insulation measurement devices, and dielectric testers are designed, developed, and manufactured there.

1987
Sefelec joined the Martek Power group, a French manufacturer of power converters.
1989
Opening of a subsidiary in Sasbach, Germany, Sefelec GmbH, to boost export activities and strengthen customer proximity.

1990
Sefelec disrupted the market with the MPC 46P, the first dielectric tester equipped with a graphic LCD display : more ergonomic and more precise.

1992
European CE standards reshaped the industrial landscape. Sefelec became a key player and expert in CE electrical safety compliance.
1998
In the late 90s, Sefelec strengthened its position in dielectric test benches with the MG range and optimized insulation measurement solutions.

2001
A decisive milestone: the acquisition of SYNOR company and brand. Two worlds came together : measuring instruments and automatic cable testers.

2005
Launch of the XS series, bringing enhanced modernity.

2010
Release of the SYNOR 5000, a new wiring and harness tester, along with its software Winpass 5000—quickly becoming an international reference.

2013
Integration into Cooper Industries in 2011, then Eaton in 2013, giving Sefelec the global scale of a major industrial group while preserving its French expertise in test solutions for the most critical environments.

2020
The SEFELEC 5X series introduced a new generation of measuring instruments: touchscreen, redesigned interface, USB updates, enhanced ergonomics for Industry 4.0 production lines. User experience is at the core: reinforced operator safety, faster execution, superior measurement precision.

2022
Launch of the Sefelec 64‑SC: an external scanner (also called switching matrix) replacing the former EXS series.
