Slip ring testing and rotary joint testing
Slip rings are made of one or more continuous electrical connections through a rotating assembly. Slip rings, also called rotary electrical interfaces, rotating electrical connectors, swivels or electrical rotary joints are used in any electromechanical system that requires un-restrained, intermittent or continuous rotation while transmitting power or data. Slip ring allows the transmission of electrical power or signals to a rotating device such as rotating tank, radio telescope, rotary couplings, rotating antennas, wind turbines.
Contact performances, electrical noise and quality of the transmitted signal are important specifications to consider when manufacturing slip rings.
Our product range allows to test these different specifications in order to insure the reliability of the slip ring.
Typical application for slip ring testing :
Our Synor cable tester range allows to do continuity tests and monitor it permanently in order to check the good contact quality of the track (no micro cuts), then perform hipot test and insulation test in order to validate the distance between two tracks or contacts on multi contact slip ring.
